The
CIC Suffolk Network
(CICSN) is the trade association for independent, micro Community Interest Companies in Suffolk
- independent, in that they are not part of a larger enterprise and micro, in that they have less than 10 full-time employess. They also need to be operationally
based exclusively, or predominantly, in Suffolk.
The
CIC Suffolk Network (CICSN) operates as an informal network
of Suffolk Community Interest Companies, with
no paid staff and a volunteer management committee. We are a mutual
support group of independent Suffolk micro Community Interest Companies
(with less than 10 full-timeemployees). Events and communications are arranged
on an ad hoc basis, as and when appropriate.
CICSN is working
on developing and implementing the "Big Society" and
Suffolk County Council's new strategic direction agenda and "Our Place" initiative.
CICSN is both a membership organisation
and a strategy and
policy
organisation. CICSN's primary aim is
to embed micro Community Interest Companies firmly into the economic framework
of Suffolk, and to show measurable and significant social and
economic impact. At CICSN our vision is a prosperous and vibrant
micro Community Interest Company sector in Suffolk.
CICSN is the county mouthpiece for the micro Community Interest Company movement linking
national, regional and local enterprise strategies and interpreting and promoting these appropriately
to practitioners in the county. CICSN also advises and influences
other local policy makers/stakeholders on policy development.
CICSN exists to build and strengthen the platform for a thriving micro Community Interest Company movement to ensure the growth and increase of the diversity,
prosperity and sustainability in Suffolk.
CICSN aims to be the primary source
of knowledge & information about micro Community Interest Companies in Suffolk.
